Among my precious photographs is a grandmother who works in his garden. My parents divorced when I was five and my sister only 4 months old. Although our mother did a good job with the telephone company, he feels he needs the support of the maintenance of his mother when the house was sold and the divorce was final.
Father to remove yourself from our lives and never paid for food and move to my grandmother’s small house, marking a departure from our comfortable home and not have my own bedroom. My mother, baby sister and I have all the room with his grandmother. We also had a place known to many of my toys and furniture warehouse.
As the older child in a quiet and very bitter, because the change in our case, it was easy for Grana grandmother with my little sister, and of course he did. Bonds, which lasted from the life of my grandmother. We have lived in my grandmother for six years before our mother remarried. During that time, I was ashamed and shocked by the whole situation with his grandmother who put us there.
Only after my grandmother, having been grown, I began to realize the influence they had on me. That’s when I gained much more respect for her. The grandmother had not lived at home for a very long time before they moved into their home. She must have felt when we arrived and overcrowding in their newly acquired space, but little has changed her life in what must be done at the time. She had a house with one bedroom and turned his room into a bedroom for us.
My grandmother met with adversity throughout his life and facing downward. He had been a single parent left to raise her two daughters alone. What was the source of his strength? Wonderful flexibility and its incredibly inquisitive mind and faith.
Grandmother was employed full time as a nurse in a veterans hospital and when she bought her little white house surrounded with a vacant lot adjacent to it, it was to correct and plant a big garden. Grandmother worked diligently to both jobs, quarter notes long and hard at the hospital, then as a gardener during the day while taking care of my sister while our mother worked day and I was at school.
