Wonderful Women
Among my precious photographs is a grandmother who works in his garden. My parents divorced when I was five and my sister only 4 months old. Although our mother did a good job with the telephone company, he feels he needs the support of the maintenance of his mother when the house was sold and the divorce was final.
Father to remove yourself from our lives and never paid for food and move to my grandmother’s small house, marking a departure from our comfortable home and not have my own bedroom. My mother, baby sister and I have all the room with his grandmother. We also had a place known to many of my toys and furniture warehouse.
As the older child in a quiet and very bitter, because the change in our case, it was easy for Grana grandmother with my little sister, and of course he did. Bonds, which lasted from the life of my grandmother. We have lived in my grandmother for six years before our mother remarried. During that time, I was ashamed and shocked by the whole situation with his grandmother who put us there.
Only after my grandmother, having been grown, I began to realize the influence they had on me. That’s when I gained much more respect for her. The grandmother had not lived at home for a very long time before they moved into their home. She must have felt when we arrived and overcrowding in their newly acquired space, but little has changed her life in what must be done at the time. She had a house with one bedroom and turned his room into a bedroom for us.
My grandmother met with adversity throughout his life and facing downward. He had been a single parent left to raise her two daughters alone. What was the source of his strength? Wonderful flexibility and its incredibly inquisitive mind and faith.
Grandmother was employed full time as a nurse in a veterans hospital and when she bought her little white house surrounded with a vacant lot adjacent to it, it was to correct and plant a big garden. Grandmother worked diligently to both jobs, quarter notes long and hard at the hospital, then as a gardener during the day while taking care of my sister while our mother worked day and I was at school.
Women Discrimination
Women face discrimination in the context of depression, especially for jobs that the teaching and public service. These jobs paid much better than factory work or low end housework than women were funneled. The best jobs went to men to take care of their families. The belief was that women did not do so because their husbands take care of them. This is obviously not true, because there were many women who were supporters of their families. But labor is the need for female workers. Rosie the Riveter was created to attract women in the workplace to meet this need.
Women left their kitchens and away from their children in order to answer this call to help their country. What they found was that they could learn “man’s work and do as well and sometimes better than their male counterparts. Their expertise has shown that women had the skills to do the job. However, they were also asked to “volunteer.” They are submitted to the local dance universal to talk to “boys” and keep the morale. They were observers of their local organizations in the public service to ensure the enemy has been stopped before flying again on American soil. Others joined the armed forces and added their contributions and the death cause of freedom.
Although women are still faced with negative attitudes on the successful man. This was a new experience for both men and women, but men seemed to be more difficult to adjust. special labor laws, women can have a longer rest periods and changes to better use the toilet.
